The Cordon Vert School is the world's premiere vegetarian cookery school and is part of the Vegetarian Society of the UK. Throughout the year we teach both members of the public and professionals the many aspects of vegetarian cookery through workshops hosted here at Parkdale in Altrincham, Cheshire. We also promote vegetarian food in many other ways such as attending food shows or running cookery competitions.
The flagship of Cordon Vert is our coveted Cordon Vert Diploma for professionals. Chefs and cooks from all areas of catering have trained with us ranging from hospital cooks to the chefs of the House of Commons. You can read more about our professional training here.
We run one and two day leisure courses for members of the public to attend all year round. On offer are both hands on workshops for people wanting a practical experience and demonstration only days for the more laid back participant. As vegetarians food tastes tend to be quite eclectic our themes can range from Indian or Moroccan cookery to mushroom foraging or healthy eating. We are proactive in promoting healthy vegetarian food throughout the catering industry and cost sectors. For instance we are currently working with Vegetarian for Life to promote healthy food for vegetarians in care homes by offering practical demonstrations to inhouse care home chefs across the country.
